I ordered this overnight while on vacation. I was in a hurry so I had to pick something listed as "Prime," and spent more than I'd planned when I started searching. It is heavier empty than I thought it would be after reading the reviews. It didn't look large enough for my purpose but it fit everything I brought (and bought)and was still only 3/4 full. It weighed in at 34 lbs at the airport and fit with plenty of room for the wheels in the overhead compartment.Oct 9, 2012 - After using this camping, flying, for several weekend trips and 6 weeks of daily use on the road, it looks brand new. It wipes off with a cloth, the wheels are all still perfect. Overall I am extremely pleased with this piece.Jan 2013- A year in and it still looks brand new. I've used it for almost three months when I add up all of the weekend trips with the longer ones. So far I've only used it on Continental, Delta, and United but it was taken as carry on with no problem going through security or onto the planes. I even overs tuff it, making use of the front and side pockets.

I bought a very similar model at Kohls and loved it. So I assumed that I was buying the same one online. When it arrived it was apparent that it was not the same. The handle on this one was cheap plastic and felt like it was going to snap when extended. When rolling the suitcase loaded the handle tends to bend and bow under pressure making it feel like it's going to snap. The Kohls model of this suitcase has a handle much stiffer and sturdy. If I did not need it for a vacation immediately I would have returned it. Kohl's was out of stock and that's what forced me to buy online. My handle is still intact after two uses but not sure for how long. I'd recommend another model for heavy or long term use.

With all the traveling I do, I've decided to always travel domestic or international with only carry-ons. I looked at expensive bags at Travel Smith and nearly every carry-on shown in Amazon and ended up picking this one. Just got back from 8 days in the UK and didn't have a bit of problem with questions about whether the bag would fit in the overheads in business class. On domestic flights it couldn't be stowed wheels out and had to be lengthwise in the overhead in business class. On long hauls, it fit easily wheels out in the overhead.
